Pilates at Yoga Rooms with Jo is one of the highlights of my week! The group is small enough to allow for individual attention and Jo is a warm, approachable and skilled teacher in whom I have absolute confidence. I have benefited greatly from the practice and now my back wouldn't be without it!
I have been practising Pilates with Jo for a number of years and it has brought huge benefits to my life. I have seen great results in terms of my strength and fitness , but I also find Jo's classes incredibly relaxing and believe Pilates can have a very positive impact on your wellbeing.
Over the years Pilates has brought great benefits to me - I have one leg longer than the other and used to suffer with various knee and back pains, but since starting Pilates this has significantly reduced through my gaining greater core strength and more balance in the muscles in my body.
Jo is a fantastic teacher, whether it's your first experience of Pilates, or you have been coming for decades, she tailors her teaching to suit all levels and supports you to develop. Her teaching style is very relaxed and she explains the techniques in a very clear and visual way.
I came to Jo's Pilates class after suffering from chronic back pain for a number of years which culminated with a disc injury. I was, at first, quite sceptical about the transformative effect of Pilates as I had practised yoga for a long time and I loved the stretching meditative power of my practice. Jo's detailed knowledge of anatomy and body awareness, of how poor posture and lack of core strength impacts on the stresses and strains we inflict on our bodies helped me understand the causes of my back pain.
