Pilates is a complete exercise method which works on strengthening your core set of stabilising muscles of the abdomen, back and pelvis.
It goes far beyond the core set of muscles however and provides a complete body workout which lengthens, tones and strengthens muscles all over the body. It incorporates a level of mental concentration, focus on posture, relaxation and use of breathing which leave you feeling taller, toned, more relaxed, energised and stronger. It develops an awareness of how the body works, helping your mind and body to work in harmony.
Pilates is a fantastic form of exercise especially for those who suffer from back pain and postural problems or women who want to gain strength and tone after having children.
Jo's teaching is both friendly, and accessible whilst still encouraging students to stay true to some of the basic Pilates principles of precision, focus, relaxation and concentration.
Jo teaches beginners, mixed ability and intermediate/advanced classes. These are available on a drop in basis with no need to book. She also does one to one tuition or small groups in your own home.
